Soil Solver Clay Plus is a fully mineralised kaolin clay and silt product, blended to ensure consistent, high-quality ingredients in every bag.

The tiny kaolin clay and silt particles coat the grains of sand, helping to slow water movement and overcome water repellency. The improved soil holds onto water, nutrients and humus for longer than sand amended with compost alone, creating a healthier environment for beneficial soil organisms. The more clay and minerals incorporated into sandy soil, the greater its capacity to retain moisture and fertility.

For a permanent improvement to sandy soil, use a minimum of 10 kg per m², thoroughly mixed through approximately the top 10 cm of soil. Rates of 10–15 kg per m² are suitable for most lawns and gardens, while 15–20 kg per m² can be beneficial for nutrient-demanding fruit and vegetable gardens.

When first converting sand, incorporate approximately 10 litres of mature compost for every 10 kg of Clay Plus to provide organic matter and food for soil life, then finish with mulch to protect the improved soil.

Clay Plus is a dense, heavy mineral product and should not be compared by volume with lightweight products such as mulch or compost.

Quick Guide

A 20 kg bag will treat approximately:

• 2 m² at 10 kg/m² – minimum recommended rate for permanent soil improvement
• 1.3 m² at 15 kg/m² – higher rate for improved moisture and nutrient retention
• 1 m² at 20 kg/m² – suitable for intensive fruit and vegetable growing

For established gardens or lawns where the full rate cannot be incorporated at once, Clay Plus can be applied progressively, provided the total application is eventually brought up to the recommended rate.
